Health Communication Simulations & Games

Lab is creating a video game to teach inner-city youth about healthy behavior during social and sexual interactions. This group is difficult to reach using traditional modes of communication, so informing them about healthy behaviors like birth control and sexually transmitted disease is a challenge.

Celestial Bodies: Performance and Multimedia Art Installation

Creative project.  Multimedia, combining performance art, poetry, web design, and visual arts the project revolves around the thirteen full moons of the calendar year.  Each poem and installation is assigned a theme based on that particular moon’s traditional name (from American Indian calendars, the Farmer’s Almanac, and so on) and is comprised of a poem and a 3D visual art display.  Creative products include a gallery show displaying the poems and full-sized art pieces together, as well as a multimedia  slideshow version of the pieces, and a chapbook that includes the poems and the visual art pieces in a print format.
